Councillor Thompson Talk

What? “A Conversation with City Councillor Michael Thompson”
When? Wednesday February 3 – 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Where? Harthouse South Dining Room
Who? For any aspiring municipal politicians, for those of you who care about
the city of Toronto, and most of all, for those of you who know little about
municipal politics or city issues and want to learn more, we welcome you to
come and enjoy some refreshments with APSS and Councillor Thompson

Don’t miss this chance to sit down with one of Toronto’s most high-profile
politicians. Michael Thompson has served on City Council since he was
elected in 2003 to serve as Councillor for Scarborough Centre. Councillor
Thompson has worked hard to foster a sense of community in Scarborough by
working closely with his constituents, local businesses, charities, and the
City of Toronto. He has also directed his efforts towards transit, crime,
and ensuring that Toronto’s governing apparatus is held accountable. The
Councillor will be speaking about issues important to the city of Toronto,
as well as what it means to be a municipal politician. This is a unique
opportunity, as we rarely hear about the local side of politics at UofT,
even though it is perhaps the level of government that affects each of us
the most every day. Please RSVP to apss@utoronto.ca. There is limited
seating available for this event!
